There are hardly any musical genres that can compete with contemporary R&B these days, and that’s because of young, independent talents like ABRA. Though her first album was still a well-kept secret in 2015, she finally decisively engraved her name into the pop canon last year with a new EP (and a performance at »Pop-Kultur«). ABRA grew up between New York, London, and Atlanta as an outsider with her eyes on the prize, down to earth but hungry for more (cases in point: nocturnal anthems like »Roses« or »PULL UP«!).
Now ABRA has written and produced new songs and she will present these live at »Pop-Kultur«, together with a digital avatar, no less. The avatar is designed and controlled by the programmer-, DJ- and VJ-duo Fractal Fantasy, i.e. Sinjin Hawke and Zora Jones. The latter will also remix ABRA’s music live on-site, perfecting an unique, immersive audiovisual performance.
