As a third of the brutal/cunning Stuttgart band Die Nerven and a tireless producer (of Drangsal and Friends Of Gas, to name a couple), Max Rieger has been counted among the most active figures in the local pop scene for several years now. Take as proof his second album for the solo project All diese Gewalt – for it, he wrote no less than 160 pieces (rounded up) within two years. Only a small selection of them made it onto »Welt in Klammern« [»World In Brackets«], which was finally released on Staatsakt and amended again this year with an addition.
The album collects songs of almost unbearable tension. Some of them develop pleasantly and painfully slowly; others are so condensed that the kick starts immediately. These contrasts are even more vivid live. Expect an erratic strobe light and a band that »loses the right amount control at the right moment« (Rieger).
