It’s been two years since Darkstar released their album »Foam Island«. In that project, they documented life in Huddersfield, a small town in Northern England feeling the effects of globalisation and the start of neoliberal austerity. The film director Cieron Magat made the accompanying music videos.
Now, the three Brits are working together again. »SAFE« is based on a four-year research project conducted across their native Great Britain. It unifies Magat’s filmmaking with several new songs by Darkstar, who are especially adept at fragile electro-pop, into a highly relevant »visual poem«.
