Michelle Blades has already seen a lot. The Mexican-Panamanian singer-songwriter grew up in the USA but has been living in Paris for five years. At the beginning of this year, she released her new work »Premature Love Songs« on the French label Midnight Special. In it, she roams across the world between a night and a morning, and supplements this adventure with a Facundo Cabra cover.
The songs may come off as cursory, but they’re by no means »premature«; on the contrary – they make you want to listen closely. This will already be Blades’s second appearance at this year’s »Pop-Kultur«: she’s a member of Fishbach’s touring band, and will perform on Wednesday of the festival as a bassist in that formation.
