Public Service Announcement: beware the band name! Piano Wire are many things but they’re not calm and quiet, in case their name gave you that impression. Instead, you’re in for melodic punk with a psychedelic impact. The band, which hails not from the USA but rather from the UK (more precisely from London), is a kind of successor to Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster. The brains behind it are Andy Huxley, Symren Gharial, Sean Duke, and Tim Venning. Their songs are fast and short, free of unnecessary ballast, and fittingly titled: e.g.,»Get a Life«. We’d suggest: get a ticket!
