French, Hebrew, Arabic – with Riff Cohen, everything comes together. The Israeli singer-songwriter is of Algerian, Tunisian, and French descent and spent many years in Paris, where she worked with the likes of Tricky. Her song to the metropolis, »À Paris«, then marked her local and international breakthrough, gaining millions of views on YouTube, followed by opening gigs for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Cohen, who’s also a successful actress and trained musicologist, began composing already at the age of eight years. Today, her very updated sound flows within poetic texts and dark harmonies, within big joy and trepidation. It’s a stylish party to danceable North African rhythms.
